Email: lkhergert at gmail.com; Phone: 925-447-8747
Lucas is a second-generation Unitarian Universalist from Cincinnati, Ohio. He decided to pursue the ministry in high school, and has since served Unitarian Universalism in several capacities. Currently, he is the Chair of the Growth Committee of the Pacific Central District.
A graduate of Harvard Divinity School, Lucas holds a Master of Divinity degree. There he was a Williams Fellow, an honorary designation awarded for academic merit. He also earned a Bachelor's in Religion and Philosophy from Miami University of Ohio. He is the recipient of awards in moral philosophy and comparative religion.
Youth and children are a priority for Lucas. He has led several youth projects to New Orleans, Boston, the Central California Valley, and elsewhere. These trips, which incorporate theological reflection and action, have become models for other youth groups.
Lucas describes himself first and foremost as a pastor. Newcomers should know that Lucas is the kind of pastoral minister who enjoys meeting over coffee or in people’s homes. He warmly welcomes a conversation about your spiritual journey.
