Unitarian Universalism is a liberal faith that stretches back to the beginning of the American experience. Its founders believed in using reason and personal experience as the source of religious authority. Hopeful about the human condition, it honored the inherent goodness and worth in every person. This led many of its earliest proponents to engage in efforts to end injustice and work for the flourishing of communities. 

Today, Unitarian Universalism celebrates truth  known to teachers, prophets, and leaders throughout the ages. Our liberal religious tradition engages many spiritual practices and scriptures, affirming that no one tradition has a monopoly on the holy. We also work to make our communities and world better, believing that ethical living is the deepest witness of religion.
